GREENER AMBERLEY

Amberley village, situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park, is an environmental and historical treasure, which the residents are keen to preserve. The Amberley community is active in its conservation in diverse ways.  The Amberley Society, created in the 1970's to resist attempts to drain the wetland of Amberley Wildbrooks (which it succeeded in doing), retains an interest in conserving both the natural and historical environment.  Greener Amberley, teamed with the Amberley Society, is a group of volunteers seeking to protect and promote the community's sustainability through building partnerships and community engagement to help enact change.  The Eco Hub has been developed to provide residents with enhanced reusing, refilling, recycling and repair facilities and The Millennium Green Volunteers maintain and safeguard this valuable community green space in the heart of the village.
